Pros: Big enough to be used as a blunt object on those nasty monsters.
Cons: Tends to just eat up the battery juice.
The Bottom Line: Great for the little adventurer. Definitely recommend this as a gift to your young one.

Dim light and something that used to sound like a chipmunk...hope daddy hurries up with those batteries!!!
After several months of possession, this hot little item is still a favorite.
Living in the boonies of Florida, it gets pretty dark. With the large switch, it is easy for my 4 year old to turn the light on. And peer out in the darkness and feel at ease. She is not afraid of the dark. But she has a ball with the light...as she is able to see in the dark...when she is supposed to be asleep. That little sneaker. (she starts snickering when she thinks she is getting away with something)
With the sounds that it makes, I can hear my little munchkin mimicking the sounds of the wild. She knows which animal does what. So, that in itself, I find helpful.
The lamp is quite durable, and withstands the torture that a 4 year old can give.
I have not had it long enough to need any replacement parts as in a bulb and such. But the batteries have died 3 times in a 3 month period. But she does use it almost every weekend in the evenings. And it is quite funny hearing the animals make different noises when the juice is low...I never heard a frog actually "croak".
There is not much more to write for this product. It is a favorite in the toy box even after a few months. It is used by my 4 year old daughter. It is a working lamp light that obviously is good in the dark. It is durable, average weight for its size, and makes animal noises that kids would enjoy.
