If you are into the Neopet Trading Card Game and are looking for high bank point cards, this is a nice one to try and collect in multiples. Banking this will add three to your score and could really put you at an advantage over other players. This is a pretty basic card in regards to how it is played, how it looks and what you can do with it but that doesn't matter, it is still worth three points if you bank it and that puts you three points closer to the 21 point total needed to win an event. There are some people that collect the high banking cards from all the sets, that's great but you can't rely solely on them to win the game for you.
Makeshift Sword 127/140
Imagery: Ehh, there's nothing all that special about the way that this card looks. There is, what I believe to be, a mutant Quiggle holding up the Makeshift Sword but you only see a part of him so it is hard to tell exactly what species it is. The background is the all too familiar Meridell Castle and it's slightly blurred. It's a bright card, not dark and scary like some others that I have previously reviewed. It’s a great card to collect but rather plain and boring to look at. Sure there is some detail to the sword itself but at the end of the day its still a small wooden sword.

Is this a rare card? No, not at all but people do like to collect it when they can because of the three point advantage that it gives the person that banks it. In that respect it is worth a little more than other cards in terms of how it can be played in an event. Given that you do not have to have a specific Neopet to use this, it is something that can be played at any point in the game. If you were looking to buy this card outright, expect to pay between .15 and .30 cents depending on who is selling it and the condition of the card.

The only point perk to this card is the three strength points. Because it is a banking card [the number three on the gold coin in the bottom left corner] the stats on the other abilities are nil. This can put you at a disadvantage if you are trying to move over on another player but since this is primarily a banking card, it can't be expected to have high numbers across the board and still serve to up your total item number to win the game.

Directions: This is an extremely simple card to play, just tap it on one of your Neopets and you are good to go. This doesn't require that you have a specific pet like Dark, Light or Water and you can play the card at any point in the game and in any arena that you choose.
Quote: "What you gonna do with that squirt? Give me splinters?" If you learn anything from the TCG it should be this, never underestimate the underdog. Just because a card or character looks innocent doesn’t mean that it can't or won’t have dire consequences if it is played against you.

The Bottom Line
Can you have too many of these? Unless you are trying to build multiple complete decks for future use or to sell, having more than ten of them might be considered overkill. To me this is a card that wasn't given much thought by the designers or artist. It is plain and somewhat boring all around and if it weren’t for the high bank number, chances are it wouldn't see much play in events or show up in many peoples decks.
