When I lived in the Midwest, I found out quickly how harsh winters could get. I found myself having dry, cracked lips because of the cold conditions. I knew I wouldn’t use Chapstick because I hated the heavy, waxy coated feeling on my lips. I tried Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer instead because the packaging stated that it would not leave a waxy feel. Turns out that one of my favorite functional lip moisturizers is Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer. This lip moisturizer puts function before fashion … it’s plain but it works.
The Product
Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer is packaged in the standard lip balm packaging. It is a white tube with a white cap and has a blue twisty section near the base of the cap. Twisting the blue section will raise the white lip balm.
Neutrogena states that the Lip Moisturizer …
· “Softens, smoothes, and protects dry, chapped lips.”
· Leaves no waxy feeling.
· “Keeps lips healthy looking and soft in all weather.”
· “Contains a PABA-free SPF 15 sunblock for added protection from the sun.”

My Experience
I love Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer. It’s plain, it’s simple, and … it works! The lip balm applies like any lip balm – unsnap the cap, twist up some balm, and apply to lips. The lip moisturizer glides on smoothly and doesn't have any scent. It makes my lips look a little glossy, but I wouldn't classify this product as a lip gloss by any means. Sometimes I get a faint white tint to my lips, but I smear my lips together and the problem resolves.
(Don’t eat the moisturizer otherwise you’ll have to contact a poison control center immediately.)
I hated the cracked lip feeling, especially when part of my lip would crack and then peel up. Peeling off the layer sometimes led to bleeding, so that was not an option. Then I found that I could sooth my dry lips and make them feel softer and smoother with Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer. Furthermore, I could prevent future dry lip occurrences with continued usage of the lip moisturizer. I liked that all of the claims for this lip moisturizer are true … there is no waxy, heavy feeling on my lips after application and my lips do feel much softer and smoother. Using the lip moisturizer meant reapplications of the product because after a few hours, I would find that my lips would be dry again. It was understandable, considering the brutal winters and the bitter wind chill. My lips would have been toast without Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer!
