No home with a knife should be without Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops! A nasty cut with a bread knife first brought this liquid bandage into my life, but since then my feet cant live without it.
The Basics
Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops comes in a small very small .034 oz tube. These drops are intended to cover minor cuts and scrapes. When applied to the skin these drops form a water-resistant but breathable seal to keep cuts clean while they heal. There are approximately 60 clear drops in the container. They dry, sting free on the skin in about 30 seconds. Also in the box is a plastic container to hold the bottle while in use and 10 swabs. The seal will wear off naturally as the wound heals or it can be removed by applying baby or mineral oil and then washing it off.

Formulated n-Butyl Cyanoacrylate
My Experience
One morning about a year ago I was slicing a bagel in half when the knife slipped and made a deep gash in my index finger. It took quite a while for the bleeding to stop, and when it did I was left an open gash in my finger. I tried regular adhesive bandages, but with two little girls in diapers I wash washing my hands at least a dozen times a day. Every time the water hit my finger I was in agony. That is when I decided to try Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops.
I have to admit that I thought $10 was an outrageous price to pay for a little bottle of glue. However, I was desperate. I unscrewed the small tube and used the top to pierce the seal. I turned the tube over and gently squeezed two drops onto my cut. I was surprised at how runny the drops were. I kept my finger turned upward until the seal dried in about 30 seconds. For the first time in a day and half I was pain free. The seal covered the exposed nerve endings that made my cut hurt constantly.
I was pleased with the instant results but I the true test would be how it held up over time. Again Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops did let me down. The seal lasted about three days, through hand washings, baths, showers and a finger nearly constantly in motion. About every three days I had to apply another 2 drops until the cut was nearly healed in about 2 weeks.
I used the bottle a couple of more times on cuts caused by knives. But I used most of my tube (and several others) on my dry cracked heals. My heels split so deeply, especially in winter that sometimes I can barely walk. I have tried a variety of foot lotions. They do soften the skin on my heels but they do nothing to repair the deep cracks. Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops does. I gently spread the crack on my heel open and put on 2-3 drops for instant relief. The drops combined with lotions goes a long way toward making it possible for me to walk comfortably again. I can usually go about 5-7 days before I need to apply additional drops to the cracks in my heels.
Besides the price, my only complaint is that these drops are thin and runny. You really need to keep the wound facing upward for the full 30 seconds until the seal has dried. This is difficult to do with my heels. Otherwise I am thrilled with Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops. They do a great job of protecting all sorts of deep cuts. Even when dry the seal remains flexible and stands up well to water. Although Ive never bothered to count I would say that I do get close to 60 drops from the bottle.
Final Thoughts
Despite its expense, and similarity to Krazy Glue, Nexcare Liquid Bandage Drops are a staple in my medicine cabinet. Whether it is cracked heels or knife wounds this is a great product to have around.
