Pros: Looks sharp, great cross trainer
Cons: Heavy, not durable for $100 dollar shoes, NOT good for running
The Bottom Line: I recommend these shoes only for cross training, NOT for running. And they are over priced.

| sgtsonny's Full Review: Nike Shox R4 Men's Running Shoe |
I originally purchased this shoe for cross training and wearing them to the gym. I partially purchased them because they looked cool also. For the purposes I intended for them they were great. But to go as far as to call this a running shoe is not something I would do.
Firstly, the type of running I do. I usually do not run distances of LESS than 2 miles. I run 2-3 miles on most days, and run 4-7 miles on some days. I have run in about five different running shoes and these have got to be the worst. Firstly the cushioning is too stiff, and the thing I dislike about them most is that I feel that I am running in basket ball shoes when I run with them. Not only are they heavy, but they are heel heavy. There is too much weight in the back half of the shoe.
I owned the shoes for about 2 years before they fell apart. This no not bad
they are pretty durable. The first year and a half I used them only in the gym. They provided excellent stability and comfort in the gym. However, after I started running in them the sole on the toes began to loose its adhesiveness to the rest of the shoe. After about 3 months of running in them they separated completely from the shoe. I realize this may be a case by case basis, but I expect more from a shoe that cost me about $100. Which brings me to my next topic
price. These shoes are over priced. I realize they are neat looking with the four shox shock absorbers in the heel, but I do not think it costs that much to make compared to other shoes that do not have the shock. I would be happy paying about $70 max for these shoes.
