When I went to choose a cellular service I was offered a free phone in the deal. I got to pick from 5 different brands and this one was my favorite. It had 9 different colors to choose from. I love the way the front is a glossy color instead of flat. I have the Blue one. I think it is one of the most stylish phones by far. It also has the options to customize it to suit your needs. You can pick from different rings and sound levels. You can even get the vibrating battery pack for silent rings. This is a very good feature for the grocery store or while at work.
As far as the service quality I think it is very good. It is an analog phone and I do not know enough about the differences but in my area digital phones have not really caught on. I live in the middle of the mountains of Northeast Tennessee and I get excellent reception. I can get service almost anywhere and it hardly ever gets static. It does occasionally have the echo sound and that is annoying. I have a far range of local calls but I think that has to do with the provider.
Now for the features and menu selections. Some I think are easy and some are not. I have yet to figure out the Caller Id, the Voice Mail, or the Phone Book options. However they are available if you can figure out how to use them. I do thing it is easy to change the Phone and Security Settings. Once you figure out how to get a phone number into the book it is very easy to choose the number to dial. I have not figured out how I got the number in there but my in-laws number is saved 5 times. It is easy enough to choose that my 2 year old son has picked up the phone and dialed his grandparents all by himself. It also has this nice feature called Keyguard so you do not push buttons by accident in your purse or pocket. It also stops my son from dialing his grandparents if I do not want him to. It is easy to start and to disable.
It started out with really good talk time, about 2 1/2 hours, and 40 hours of standby time. After a years use and recharging the battery only carries about 1 hour talk time and 24 hours standby. An extra battery may be a good idea if you are out and have it on a lot.
It tells you on the screen if you are out of your area and running up roaming charges. It also shows your antenna and battery power on the screen. This takes a lot of the guess work out of making calls.
As for durability I will tell you a story and let it speak for itself. I had set the phone on the dash of my car and I was getting ready to pull out of a parking lot onto a very busy street. My husband was watching traffic for me and told me to gas it. I stepped on the gas pedal and to my surprise he was rolling his window down and the phone went right out of it. It skidded down the road and did an few flips and landed in the median. I almost did not even bother with going back after it. I thought there was no way it could have survived, It must be in pieces. I decided I was not going to chance someone finding it in one piece and running up an outrageous phone bill. To my surprise it did not have a single scratch. (WOW)
I would defiantly recommend this phone. Maybe one day I will switch to digital but for now this is just the right phone for me.
