...why didn't you or your mother use the keypad lock feature for your phones. I was a longtime 5160 user. The keypad lock was a lifesaver, and very easy to activate and deactivate. On top of that you can still answer your phone with the keypad locked.

I met someone else who had a problem with "purse dialing," as you call it, except in this case, it was a man who kept accidentally dialing his wife when he was driving his truck!

...once took our daughter to a tumble tots group (one where the parents get to tumble too), with the mobile in his pocket. I was at home, the phone rings. Guess what? Hubby had tumbled onto the phone. I got to listen to a whole bunch of toddlers for...oh...around half an hour. I couldn't even disconnect!
I tried shouting into the phone, holding the cordless up to the corded phone to create loud and annoying feedback with no luck.
After a while, he tumbled again, solving the problem. What a relief!

I wish my Mom stole my Tori Amos albums... and, as for the guy who accidentally calls the White House, I'd probably take advantage of it to give them an earful! Still, great review for those who experience this somewhat humorous problem...

You could use the key lock like I do. I have a 5160, and made some purse calls to GA while visiting in AL. Not cheap.

I usually carry my Motorola Digital Phone on my back pocket. The man's version of purse dialing happens when I bump my phone against a wall or counter, hear it beep, then try to explain to the FBI how I managed to dial into the White House on a secret telephone line! I laughed when I read your Epinion review because what you explained is so common.
Thanks for a fun, interesting and informative opinion!
