| CellKnowledge's Full Review: Nokia 8860 Cell Phone |
I shouldn't be saying much about this phone, since it got stolen about 3 months after I owned it. But during the period I owned it, I kept on receiving oooh's and aaah's from people all around.
I bought this phone before AT&T Wireless Services made such a big deal on it, so all of you know I got it for a hefty price.
Back then, it was worth it. Now that they offer two-way text, I would have instead travelled to the future and got a 8260 instead.
I loved all the features of this phone, because it was the first digital phone I owned. Even though I paid over 500 bucks for it, i thought it was worth it.
The phone is so light, only four ounces, and is not much different from its European counterpart, the Nokia 8810, but it would have been nice it they also added IrDA onto the US model.
The chrome was like a looking glass, in which my friends always used to look at themselves. But ever since I got it smeared, its useless. I hate having to clean off the fingerprints every three seconds, but it makes a cute statement.
I got the longest standby time and semi-long talk time, consisting of six days, and 2.5 hours, respectively. Note that these values are in digital mode.
I also get a PDA included, or more up-to the point, a calendar book. I didn't use it to log my appointments, because I have a Palm V, but you could use it for that.
Down to features, it offers all the same thing that your digital wireless telephone, like SMS, and Credit Card Dialing and Games.
I also love the sliding case that gives you easy access to the Functional buttons. It makes me think I'm living in the Matrix!
If you want a functional wireless telephone, get something cheaper.
If you want to be unique in style, I recommend you get this.
Where to buy for the best price?
NOT AT&T Wireless. Go anywhere else, but if you are in the suburbs, you would have to go to the AT&T store anyway. I paid nearly 600 bucks but expect to get it for about 250 now.
And the warranty lives up to its potential. I dropped the phone and mutilated my phone, so I sent it back and they replaced the chrome on the model, so it would look brand new.
So get this, if you dare to risk all the looks you'll be getting.
