Pros: No cuss words and very "clean" for an Eddie Murphy movie.
Cons: Not funny and not worth spending the money on either the theater or the dvd.
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your time or money on Norbit. It is Eddie Murphy's worst movie.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
Today I packed the kids up and we went to the Dollar Movies to see Norbit. After seeing it I am very glad that I did not waste the money on the regular movie theater. This movie is very disappointing compared to other Eddie Murphy movies and the only thing that I can say about it is that it is a "clean" movie with no nudity and no cuss words.
Norbit is played by Eddie Murphy and he also plays Norbit's very large wife named Rasputia. Norbit was raised by his adopted Chinese family. His adopted father, Mr. Wong also played by Eddie Murphy, is very racial and doesn't even like blacks, yet he raised Norbit. When Norbit was younger he and another girl that was raised at the orphanage got "married" under a special tree. A few years after Norbit and his wife are married this same girl, Kate Thomas played by Thadie Newton, comes back to town to buy the orphanage. That is when Norbit's wife, who is already having an affair with her dance instructor, gets very jealous and all heck breaks loose in the movie. I will not tell the rest of the story in case you choose to view the movie yourself.
I will tell you the only funny part in the movie as it is included in the television commercial about the movie. It is when Rasputia goes down the water slide at the water park. That is the ONLY funny part of the movie.
My children and myself were very disappointed with Norbit. My children are ages 9 and 10 years. I believe that Pluto Nash, another Eddie Murphy movie, is much more entertaining than Norbit. Would I recommend this movie to friends and family? No, this is the worst Eddie Murphy movie that I have ever seen. I would not recommend spending your money on seeing Norbit at the theater or to buy on DVD. I would wait until it comes out on cable television and even then I would recommend not watching it unless you have nothing better to do with your time.
Norbit is rated PG13 and the run time is 102 minutes. The one goof that I found in the movie is that at times when Rasputia is driving her car leans to the side due to her weight and at other times the car does not lean when she is driving it.
Bottom line... don't waste your movie on the bomb called Norbit. Eddie Murphy is one of my favorite actors but he really hit rock bottom with this one. I think they tried to make Norbit out to be like the movie Nutty Professor but they fell very short on the outcome.
