Are you one of the millions who are trying to shed a few pounds? Have you tried the Atkins Diet? South Beach Diet? Are you skipping all carbs? Or have you tried to get two hours of exercise in each day? My guess is that you have tried one of the above in your quest.
Yet, many people find the pounds do not and have not come off as quickly as they would like. So, what do they do? Well, they resort to something a little more exotic. Some people save up and get their stomachs stapled. Others hire personal trainers. Yet others decide that they can drop the pounds with the assistance of vitamins and chemicals.
One of the most advertised ways to help you lose weight with some help is the TrimSpa company. The company has ads all over the internet and on cable TV. If you have watched John Daly on the golf course this year, you have seen the company advertised on his breast pocket. Alas, I am not sure why the company wants to advertise on a guy who is a good 75 pounds overweight with little chance of losing significant weight. Or check out the ads featuring Anna Nicole Smith and the second body that she dropped. I wonder if she used TrimSpa five years ago when she trimmed down for the first time?
At any rate, the ephedra free capsule is to be taken once or twice a day immediately before your biggest meals of the day. The capsule is supposed to remove suppress your dietary urges and keep you from eating as much as you probably want to eat. Essentially, you are messing with your blood sugar levels and metabolism in order to lose the extra pounds. The thought is that you take the capsule right before eating and the huge dinner you are about to consume will not be eaten entirely and, therefore, you will be taking in few calories and, in turn, will have make more progress as you exercise.
Wonderful! But, this assumes two big things. First of all, that you are not going to snack all the time. Many people who have trouble with their weight get that way from constant snacking, not from eating three or four huge meals a day. Secondly, this assumes that you are going to get out and exercise. Yes, you have to get off your lazy butt and exercise. My guess is that this is a problem for a lot of people since they are turning to something to help them meet their goals that is not entirely natural.
Which brings me to my next concern. Do we know anything about the long term effects? I am aware that most of what goes into one of these capsules is natural stuff, but do we know what effect this stuff might have on the body? Heck, tobacco is natural. Is it good for you? Do you really want to lose the pounds so significantly and quickly in order to fit into a smaller coffin?
Finally, the bottom line with losing is simple; burn off more calories than you consume and you will lose weight. I am not sure how it can be any easier. The hard part is counting the calories that you burn off, but there are guidelines that assist you. What does this involve? Well, to begin with it means that you probably have to cut back on the amount of calories that you are consuming on a daily basis.
It also means that you may have to step up your exercise routine. You would be amazed at how much of a difference 15 extra minutes a day makes. I take an extra 15 minute walk in the morning on the way to the office and by doing so I get in an extra six miles every week. Big deal, you say? Well, combine this with the 30-45 minutes that I walk over lunch and you have a three or four mile jaunt each day that is not cutting into my normal lifestyle and/or free time. Alas, this needs to be done in addition to your regular workout. Then you will start to see some results.
But this is not about teaching you how to lose weight. This is an epinion that is about TrimSpa. So, to finish up, I am sure everyone is wondering if it works? The answer is yes, it does. I have not used it, but have a few friends who have. They have all lost weight and look much better than did before. TrimSpa says that you should see immediate results and that results of three to five pounds a day are normal. Yeah, ok. None of the friends who have tried this reported five pounds a week. They all said that they lost a couple of pounds a week.
They also all wonder what the next step is. Not a single one of them has any interest in taking a capsule before every big meal for the rest of their lives- especially not when the cost is $40 for 60 capsules. So, what next? How do you keep the weight off?
Finally, the company offers a nice money back guarantee- why is it that every company that we have never heard of and that advertises on cable, has a 100% money back guarantee- but they also make it so confusing and restrictive that I am not sure it is worth it. You can do this and cannot do this. You are initially steered in the direction of getting the product replaced. The guarantee is only good on these products and only if purchased in a certain manner. Ugh!!! Just spell it out! Just come out and say, "If our product sucks and is not what you wanted, we will send you a check for the amount you paid"! Simple.
The bottom line is that you cannot rely on anyone but yourself if you want to lose a few pounds. The equation is simple- more calories burned than eaten and you will lose weight. This does not cost a penny and you know it will not harm your health down the road. I would have serious discussions with multiple doctors before considering TrimSpa. If I got a concensus green light from the doctors, then I would consider TrimSpa. Otherwise, get off your lazy butt and start working out harder and more frequently.
