When I divorced my ex husband, I got the kids and he got my dog. Not an arrangement I was completely happy about but hey I got the kids! We both remarried and he got deployed with the military and after about 6 months of him being gone I got a phone call asking if I would take the dog. Of course I said yes and got him as soon as I could. When Chunky, yes that's his name, came back to live with his he has changed from Chunky to FAT!!! My baby is a Cairn Terrier and was weighing in at 39 pounds when he came to live with us...extremely overweight for this kind of dog.
We set out to find a dog food that he would eat and that would help shed some pounds. He was so fat that he was almost completely inactive and was suffering from skin irritations. We went to Petco and I read all the weight control dog food labels. I wanted something that first sounded like something that he would eat (yes my doggie is not only fat but he is also a little picky)then I came across Nutro Max Weight Control Formula. It was all natural which made me feel good about buying it. It was reasonable priced especially compared to some of the other brands. I chose the Chicken and Rice flavor and tried it out on Chunky the following morning...HE LOVED IT!
We started buying him Nutro Max Weight Control Formula in February 2006, and along with the new dog food started him on a moderate exercise routine and cut out all doggie treats. Now instead of the Scooby Snack he was getting he munches on raw baby carrots. Since changing his food his skin has cleared up completely, he is running around the yard once again chasing the kids, squirrels, birds and anything else he thinks he might catch and best of all when I took him to the vet in May 2006 he had already lost six pounds!!! He still has a long way to go but I am sure he is well on his way to being a healthier happy canine and Nutro Max Weight Control Formula is the main reason!
