I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at Outback. In fact, the only real complaint I have is the long wait at times, which they can't really do anything about (except make the food bad, which we don't want). My advice here is to go at an off-time (not friday or saturday night).
The service has always been very good. They are very prompt about giving me my soda refills (a complaint I have about most places). The food is delivered pretty quickly as well. Service is always with a smile. This is the case at many Outbacks that I have eaten at, in different states.
The food is delicious. I have to intentionally starve myself before I go, because I gobble it all up. Again, this is true of all the Outbacks that I have been to.
I do wish the prices were a little bit lower, but I can only assume that is why the food is so good. I can't afford to eat there every week, but it is a nice place to do that won't break the food budget. Since I eat a lot, it costs about $45 for myself and my wife, including tip.
Food:
Excellent. Good sized portions, too.
Service:
Outstanding.
Decor:
Very good. Though it can get a little loud at times, so if you want a quiet evening, this isn't the place.
Special Notes, Tips or Menu Recommendations:
Get the Wallybedarnned (if you're 21). Delicious!
Food: Excellent. Good sized portions, too. Hint: don't eat lunch that day.
Service: Outstanding. Never had I had a bad waiter/waitress, busboy/girl, host/hostess, etc. I can't remember how they rectified any problems, because I never had one (well, one time a wing fell on the floor, and they immediately brought me out a new one, that's about it).
Decor: Very good. Though it can get a little loud at times, so if you want a quiet evening, this isn't the place. But for a group of people, it's perfect, because you don't have to worry about being too loud. Not that it's a noisy place, but it isn't for the intimate dinners.
Special Notes, Tips or Menu Recommendations: To start out, the Wallybedarnned (if you're 21) (about $3.50 for the small). Great cocktail drink. I only wish it would be included in their happy hour specials. Otherwise, your favorite beverage is available, and with free refills.
My favorite appetizer is the wings (about $6). I'm a wing lover, and these are definitely the best. They come in mild, medium, and hot. Since my tongue can catch on fire at 70 degrees, I go for the mild, and ask for it on the side, that way I can put on as much as I want. Those of you with stronger tastebuds might want to try for the medium or hot.
The salads they give are very fresh. I can't comment on the salad dressing, since I don't like dressing, so I get it dry. Definitely use fresh vegetables...I could swear they grow it themselves. Also accompanied with the salad is their bread. It's always very warm, and usually have to ask for a second.
My favorite entree is the Outback Special (about $12.50). Only comes in 12oz, but by the time the steak is served, I'm pretty full to begin with. I'm not sure what they use for seasoning (you can get it blackened if you like), but it is delicious. They always cook it exactly the way I like (medium rare...red but warm), I never had it too well done, or have it come out cold.
A strong second for me is their prime rib (blacked, of course, I love heavy seasoning). The Au Jus sauce that comes with it definitely adds to the flavor)
Can't comment on dessert for the obvious reasons!
