amosnews's Full Review: PNY CompactFlash Card (512 MB) (P-CF512-RF3)
I read many reviews on Epinion of the PNY CompactFlash cards, and in spite of reading some reviews from people with issues on the product, I could not resist the price of the PNY 1g ($49.95). My decision turned out to be a good one, and after shooting four very satisfying events with it, I can see that performance of delicate electronic media is subject to ones particular camera, shooting habits and need. The PNY CompactFlash worked great with my five year-old Nikon D100.
My first event was the finish of a 10k run, where I shot more than 500 runners at the finish line as fast as I could - shooting anywhere from ten seconds apart to less than one second apart for a long time. I was shooting like a machine gun and it was quite fun. My camera was set at large file, normal rez, and obliviously I had no problems with the speed of the card.
My next shoot that week was an important political banquet, where I shot about 60 pictures at highest JPG rez. indoors with a flash. I had no bad files, no problems and wonderful reproduction. My other two events were less stressful outdoor portrait jobs, and again I had no problems and very nice results.
In my epinion, the PNY CompactFlash cards works great and I saved a bunch of money. I went in the store to pay $79.95 for a SansDisc and happened to see the PNY next to it on sale.
