matthews_mommy's Full Review: Pampers Swaddlers Diapers, Size N (Up To 10lbs), S...
Pampers is the only brand of diapers I will buy (and only swaddlers for newborn through size 2). My son is 2 years old now, and over the past 2 years I've tried a lot of different brands of diapers. But everytime I go back to buying Pampers. They are a little more pricey than store brands and the same price as Huggies.
Swaddlers are the most absorbent diaper. These diapers not only hold the mess, but keep it away from the baby's skin as well. I've found that most of the store brands that hold the mess, hold it right on the baby's skin. My son had alot of diarrhea when he was a newborn from a milk allergy that we hadn't discovered yet. As part of the testing for the milk allergy, we had to get 2 jars of stool specimens from him. I figured this would be easy since he had diarrhea every 1-2 hours, but I could hardly get anything off the diaper. After 2 days and diaper changes at least every 2 hours, I barely had anything in the jar. I then bought some Target brand baby diapers to try them out. Within a few diaper changes I had the jars full. It just sat on the top of the diaper.
I tried Huggies also, and they almost always leaked. Huggies would leak urine even when the diaper wasn't wet from the leg area. The entire diaper would be dry except the leg area. I tried Huggies a few times thinking maybe it was a bad batch or something. I grew up with the understanding that Huggies were the best diaper. I don't know what happened to them, but I think they are terrible.
Pampers fit the best, and are the best quality. Now we don't even try the other ones, they aren't worth it. I did switch my son to Pampers Baby Dry once he got to size 3, the Baby Dry diapers only have stretchy sides on size 3+.
