Muffled, yet comfortable earphones

Pros: Volume control and a handy mute switch, quite comfortable, cheap
Cons: Muffled sound, weak bass, ridiculously long cord (though some may not find this a con)
The Bottom Line: As comfortable as they are, as cheap as they are, and as big as they are, they just simply do not have the sound quality I need.

Before I start I'd like to mention that I have a jazz background, and that is pretty much all the music that these headphones have been used for by me.
Price: More then acceptable. In fact, such a price for headphones of this style (large cups) may make these already an excellent choice for many.
Build and Comfort: Wearing them is very pleasing. They fit around my head very well. They have four adjustment points. The top band, the blueish band under the top band that goes directly on your head, and the pieces that hold the ear-cups. The earcups themselves swivel like most headphones of this design. On the chord there is a small piece that can adjust the volume as well as a mute switch, which is useful for saying a quick word to someone without taking off the headphones. Speaking of the chord, it's ridiculously long. Some may like this flexibility, I do not.
Sound: This is where I have my gripes about these. Enough so that I am taking them back. They just sound muffled. Piano tones are weak through these, bass is nearly non-existant, and the rest just lacks "colour" and "feeling". I was very unimpressed with what these were able to do for my music. This was not specifically my MP3 player...I tested them on my brothers CD player and my computer. And because of this, I do not recommend these headphones to any audiophile.
All in all, sound is really the purpose headphones are bought, and they ultimately are THE deciding factor, which is why I must return these to the person I bought them from. Thank you.
