This is one of the best purchases that I have made this year.
If you enjoy watching a little TV, but can't stand watching all the advertisements and fillers and titles,etc then you need one of these.
It's basically a computer that stores TV programs onto a hard disk for later playback.
It has advanced recording features.(record all shows which have Tea Leoni in them)
It can record another show while you watch a pre-recorded show.
It can pause live tv.
It skips forward 30 second increments with the touch of a button - instantly.
It's always on hunting for the shows you want to watch, and prepares them for you watch, when you want to watch them.
Didn't catch that joke by Drew Carey, just press the 7 second replay button and listen to it again, even on live TV.
I hardly ever watch live tv any more, I watch the programs I want to watch in a much shorter timespan, I'm oblivious to the term 'Prime Time TV' as it's always prime time now.
The Showstopper uses the ReplayTV service, which is free, unlike Tivo.
Version 3.0 of the software is being invisibly distributed to all the machines at night while you sleep, with many improvements in terms of ease of use and new features.
Plus, you'll be able to control your show selections via the internet soon, this is only a feature of ReplayTV at the moment and not Tivo.
The only problem I have with this product is that it runs a little hot, but apparently that's normal. It can be expensive too if you don't know where to shop.
