| cmaw63's Full Review: Paulas Choice Skin Balancing Toner for Normal To O... |
In my search for something that would help my combination skin I found Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner for Normal to Oily/Combination Skin. I wanted to get rid of my oily skin and the dry flaky areas across my forehead and bridge of my nose. I needed to find something that worked for both problems.
Paula's Choice Website Spiel
Revitalize your skin with this state-of-the-art, weightless solution. Potent antioxidants, ingredients that mimic the skin's structure, cell-communicating ingredients, and anti-irritants help skin repair itself and normalize oil production. Also eliminates mild dryness or flaking sometimes found with combination skin, leaving it beautifully smooth and satin-soft.
Ok, who could resist that? After all...my cells definitely needed to start communicating. Something that claims to repair my skin, calm down the oil production and take care of the flaking? I had to try it.
I ordered the 6 ounce bottle for $12.95 + $3.50 shipping and handling from the Paula's Choice Online Store. It was delivered one week later by UPS. Tearing into the package, I was eager to get started on straightening out my skin.
Using the Toner
Directions: After cleansing, soak a large cotton ball with Skin Balancing Toner and gently stroke over the face. Do not rinse off. Follow with moisturizer and/or a specialty product.
The plastic bottle has a screw on/off lid and a small hole in the middle of the covered opening. This came in handy in controlling how much of the toner I put on a cotton ball.
After washing my face with soap and water, I lightly spread the toner on with the cotton ball. I do this in the morning and before going to bed. Within a few seconds of applying the toner it dries, leaving my face feeling like nothing was used. There is no oily or dry feeling...it seems to just evaporate. The toner has a slight astringent smell that disappears when it dries. I do not add a "moisturizer or specialty product" as I wanted to see the effects of this product, by itself. The small amount of toner it takes to do my face means this bottle is going to last quite a while. Is that a good thing?
Does it Work?
I've been using Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner for Normal to Oily/Combination Skin for, approximately, two weeks now and can already see a difference. My face is less oily and the dry flakey areas are gone. My concern that it would cause more problems, such as; breakouts or overall facial dryness, were unfounded. I have sensitive skin that can get irritated by most products, but this toner doesn't harm my skin at all. I'm not sure if my cells are communicating...but something is working to make my skin look better.
Overall
I am loving Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner for Normal to Oily/Combination Skin. It has my skin the way I want it to be...normal.
