Pros: an excellent shower gel
Cons: cherry scent is gross, doesn't work as a bubble bath, pricey
The Bottom Line: Do yourself a favor this holiday season and avoid philosophy Have A Cherry Christmas.

| njchicaa's Full Review: Have a Cherry Christmas Personal Care |
As a philosophy fan and a bath and beauty products junkie in general, I knew I had to buy a few of the new seasonal philosophy 3-in-1 Shower Gel, Shampoo, and Bubble Baths when I saw them on the Sephora web site. I love Christmas, so one of the scents that I included was Have A Cherry Christmas.
About This Product
philosophy Have A Cherry Christmas is one of their high-foaming 3-in-1 products which can be used as a shampoo, shower gel, or bubble bath. This is a seasonal (obviously Christmas) and limited-edition product with a cherry scent.
This product does not contain natural, organic, or cruelty-free ingredients and, to be fair, the company doesn't claim to make anything other than effective and wonderfully-scented bath and beauty products.
A 16 fluid ounce bottle of Have A Cherry Christmas costs $16. You can find it sold in Sephora shops and online at the philosophy web site, the Sephora site, drugstore.com, and even eBay. philosophy seems to have some kind of price contract with the companies that sell their products because you really never find them on sale or cheaper than the price listed on the company web site.
My Experience
Despite the fact that you can't really consider the two weeks before Halloween to be part of the "Christmas season", I still eagerly started using it the very next day after it was delivered to my doorstep.
I first used it as a shower gel in conjunction with a mesh sponge and it didn't disappoint. philosophy Have A Cherry Christmas lived up to its "high-foaming" description and a quarter-sized amount produced more than enough lather to completely clean my whole body and shave my legs to boot!
I next tried it a few times as a bubble bath. I've had the past week off and had a lovely, long bath almost every morning. This philosophy 3-in-1 Shower Gel, Bubble Bath and Shampoo disappointed as a bubble bath and didn't do more than produce a handful of bubbles and turn the water a very pale shade of pink. Boring.
I've also used Have A Cherry Christmas several times on the weekend as a shampoo. It lathers well and leaves hair feeling hydrated and clean, but I didn't like the fact that I didn't have a companion conditioner to use in conjunction with this product. Cherry shampoo and Ocean Breeze conditioner just don't work so well together, ya know?
As far as the overall Have A Cherry Christmas scent goes, well, I'm not thrilled with it. Honestly, it seems to be a combination of Robitussin cough medicine and Luden's Cherry Throat Lozenges. This fragrance doesn't remind me of cherries, Christmas, the holiday season, or anything else other than cough and cold remedies.
Luckily, the scent doesn't linger on skin any longer than it takes for you to rinse this stuff off of your skin or out of your hair. Usually I consider a short-lived scent to be a negative aspect for a product, but in this case it is actually a good thing.
Overall Opinion
Although philosophy Have A Cherry Christmas works well as a shower gel, the scent is horrid. Not only would I not buy this product again, but I wouldn't even use it if someone gave it to me for free. No thanks!
