| MadamC's Full Review: Playtex Ventaire Bottle System |
Please, I can't reiterate how much you need to stay AWAY from these bottles! At a price of around $8 for 2 - 8oz & 1 - 4oz bottle, you are being completely ripped off!
I got these because of the advertising on the package--they are supposed to be better for your baby because they prevent the baby from sucking air through the nipple. Completely false statement!
First of all, it takes forever to put these bottles together and take them apart. You not only have the standard screw on lid and nipple, but the bottom also screws on and you must attach the air vent piece to it as well. Cleaning is a pain, since there are 2 more pieces than any other bottle. Getting the air vent piece in and out is hard--you MUST have strong fingernails to push and maneuver it in/out.
Then, after getting the bottle all ready, we found that the baby is frustrated pretty much all the time as the nipples get sucked flat--no milk at all will come out! I've found the only way to fix this is to take the bottle from the baby, tilt it down as feeding the baby, the squeeze the nipple just right to suck the air out and get the milk back in the nipple.
