Pros: Solid, well built, great finish, hook and loop discs
Cons: I haven't found any in 3 1/2 yrs of heavy use
The Bottom Line: I have enjoyed using the PC333 sander so much that I bought another one on sale and put it up on the shelf.

| gcavener's Full Review: Porter-Cable Quicksand Random-Orbit Sander 333 |
Before I got the Porter Cable #333 Random Orbital Sander (ROS), I hated to sand. My Makita belt sander was too aggressive for most jobs, while my Makita quarter sheet sander was painfully slow and literally screams.
The 333 is actually very pleasant to use. It's not very loud, moves lots of wood in a hurry and doesn't leave nasty marks all over your expensive wood. It is very simple to change grits while you are working on a project. I have found that the hook and loop paper is actually somewhat cheaper to use than adhesive backed stuff. When you finish with #80, you peel it off and put on the #120, then #180 or however you wish. Removing the paper does not destroy it. You can go through the cycle using the same discs over and over until they are really worn out.
I've since used the DeWalt, Makita, and Bosch in comparable models. To me, the PC333 is the best of the lot. When you lift the PC off the wood, it doesn't go into free-wheel, the finish is excellent, and the speed of material removal is little short of a belt sander. For the money, anyone except for the "single-use" buyer would be hard pressed to find a better buy.
