Pros: Um, it's red
Cons: Too slow, too loud, cheap plastic, poor traction, wide steering
The Bottom Line: Buy something else and test it real well first. The traction is so poor....

Compared with other motorized toys, this one is not worth the money.
First, the battery takes forever to charge (18 hours) and even when charged it does not stay that way long. After about an hour of playing the car slows significantly and it's not so much fun.
Second, speaking of slowing, the car doesn't go too fast in the first place. It's good because it keeps younger kids safe, but bad because my son can go faster on his trike than the power wheels car so it's not as "cool."
Third, it's made of a thin, cheap-looking plastic that can be damaged easily. It doesn't have the "chrome" grill like in the commercials or black runners on the bottom. It's all red, cheap plastic. The front hood comes off easily.
Fourth, it comes with rubber rings that go around the tires, called "traction rings." We didn't install the rings at first, but then it wouldn't even move on the grass (it just sat there, wheels barely damaging the lawn). So we put on the traction devices and it didn't help at all! We literally have to push it if we're on the grass or dirt. I'd image it would go pretty well if it were on concrete but we don't want him driving it in the street....
Fifth, steering is very wide; we needed approximately 30 feet to turn 180 degrees around.
Sixth, its LOUD. Neighbors complained, dogs barked, etc.
A few things to think of before you buy:
1. Give yourself 18 hours to charge the battery before giving this as a gift.
2. Think of the child's age and if he or she has other ride-on toys that go faster (we're talking faster than an adult's stride); if so then this might not be so cool.
3. Think of where you're going to store it; it's about 2.5-3 feet wide, will it fit through your doors (it's not too heavy to lift, though).
4. Think of where it will be ridden. Grass/dirt gives it little traction; concrete is best. Also, wide open spaces are best so it can be turned without adult assistance or without the child having to get out of the vehicle to manually turn it. Also, it may need to be operated away from neighbors (who will complain about the noise).
