| MsHooterville's Full Review: Revlon Colorstay Lipliner |
Revlon's Colorstay Lipcolor has been around for awhile. I used to use it a lot a few years ago, but was never totally satisfied with it, and was just too busy to think about looking for something new.
But I did pick up a tube a week ago, mostly so I could see if it has improved at all. Some Epinioners like it, so I was going to give it another chance. I chose the Rose shade, the brightest of the red tones that was available at Super Target. They have a broader color selection at Walgreen's, including an attractive shade called Fire that appealed to me -- but it cost more than a dollar more than at Super Target.
The first test, and one of my favorites, is to apply it at bedtime and see if it's still there when I wake up. That test failed. My next favorite test is to see if it stays on when I eat bacon. Nope, failed again. Will it even stand up to a diet Coke? Sort of -- I had a few rosy splotches to accentuate the exposed whiteness of my lips.
The texture is somewhat creamier than I remember, but still on the dry side. It's kind of like putting dry rouge like your grandma used to wear on your lips, except a little easier because of the tube form.
I also remember that if you lose this lipstick for a few weeks, it will have dried out by the time you find it. So if you like ColorStay then use it often and don't lose it -- use it or lose it, whichever way you look at it!
