Pros: A classic, unique fragrance that will get you noticed!
Cons: Difficult to find, and a little pricey (but worth the money and effort...).
The Bottom Line: A lovely fragrance...and I always feel great when I wear it. It's a bit expensive, so the EDP Mini is a great, low-risk way to get acquainted!

| fraygirl's Full Review: Robert Piguet Fracas 0.068oz Edp Mini |
Dont you just love it when you are discreetly approached by someone who MUST KNOW what fragrance youre wearing?
This happens to me just about every time I wear Fracas, a fragrance developed by Robert Piguet in Paris in 1948, and reintroduced in 1996. Its not one of those heavy, smack-you-over-the-head fragrances, like Poison or Obsession. Fracas just smells beautiful, hypnotic. It makes you wish you could inhale more deeply, and I always feel great when Im wearing it.
I am not an expert and cant tell you exactly what notes make up this unique fragrance, so here is some information from the Fracas promotional literature:
When you smell Fracas, you are experiencing a blend of tuberose and white flower with a hint of orange, as well as jasmine, jonquil, lily of the valley, white iris, and a touch of pink geranium. My nose experiences a slightly heady, very smooth, opulent and lush floral fragrance, with a definite emphasis on the tuberose and perhaps a little gardenia mixed in.
If you have a great imagination, then perhaps you are smelling Fracas right now! If, on the other hand, youre like the rest of us, youll probably require a little more than the previous description to really know if you want to invest in this fragrance. Fracas is not a chain fragrance and, therefore, is almost impossible to come by in the larger department stores at the mall. If you have a Saks (or other such store) near you, they may have Fracas available for immediate sample or purchase.
Otherwise, your best (and cheapest) bet is on the Web. Ive found many sites which offer Fracas
some at regular prices and some at a discount. Youll be able to find the eau de toilette, eau de parfum, gift sets, body lotion, powder, etc. Since prices for this one can be a little steep ($65.00 for the 1.7 EDP Spray), I would recommend buying the inexpensive mini-bottle so you can make sure that you like this scent as much as I do. I would also suggest that you use this fragrance sparingly. I have the type of skin that doesnt hold fragrances very well, but one spritz of Fracas eau de parfum lasts me all day. From initial spritz to dry-down, this fragrance remains consistent. So, in this respect, it is worth the higher price!
The eau de parfum bottle itself is rather classic and distinct. Its black glass, rectangular-shaped, with a pale pink border running around the name. Nothing gimmicky here, folks! For those of you who like the bottles as much as the fragrances inside, this would be a nice addition to your collection.
Ive been approached by all sorts of people expressing an interest in this fragrance, but this next story is about my favorite. The last time I volunteered at my daughters school, I happened to be wearing Fracas. One of the little boys from her class approached me with a dreamy look on his face. He said, You smell like candy! At first I thought, Wow
thats disgusting. Im never wearing this again. But then I realized that being told that you smell like candy is about the highest praise one can receive from a six-year-old!
If youre looking for a new fragrance that will have you leaving admirers (of all ages) in your wake, you must give Fracas a try. As for your response when someone asks you what perfume youre wearing
well, thats up to you. You can maintain your mystique, or you could make the world (smell) a little nicer by spreading the word about Fracas.
