If you've had occasional heartburn, you've heard of Rolaids. I liked the tablets for their fast acting relief of my minor heartburn. I did not like foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog or the chalky taste.
I woke up this morning with heartburn and the realization I had nothing for it. On my way to work I stopped at a local gas station to pick up an antacid. That's when I realized Rolaids had come out with a soft chew and it came in Wild Cherry, my favorite flavor.
I bought a pack of 6 Rolaids Antacid Soft Chews, Wild Cherry for $1.19.
Purpose and Directions
Antacid relieves heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion and upset stomach due to these symptoms. Active Ingredient in each chew: Calcium carbonate 1177 mg.
Chew and swallow 2 to 3 chews, hourly if needed. Do not take more than 6 chews in a 24 hour period or for more than two weeks, except under the advice and supervision of your physician.
Ok...Start Working Already!
As soon as I got back to my truck, I tore the package open and started chewing. Not bad...they're soft and taste like the cherry candy in a Starburst pack.
When 30 minutes had gone by, with still no relief from the two chews I had taken...I chewed up a third one. An hour after I took the first Rolaids Soft Chew I, finally, felt moderately better.
After another hour went by I ate two more of the chews...30 minutes later my heartburn was gone.
A total of 2 and a half hours went by...not good. I gave up chalky, fast acting antacid tablets for tasty, slow acting chews. I won't make that mistake again. I would rather foam at the mouth for a few seconds than put up with the pain and acid taste of heartburn for hours.
Unless you can tell the future and know when you're going to have heartburn...forget about Rolaids Antacid Soft Chews, Wild Cherry.

calcium 470 mg and magnesium 5 mg
Inactive ingredients: corn starch, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, FD&C red no. 40 aluminum lake, flavoring, glycerin, hydrogenated coconut oil, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin and sucrose.
