The GOOD:
Printer is cheap.
Inktanks are cheaper than the average ink tanks from other brands.
USB & Parallel connectivity.
Stunning photo renderings.
Epson drivers work very well on all properly maintained Windows operating systems.
The BAD:
Slow, slower, and PAINFULLY slow.
Noisy - almost CLUNKY sounding.
Lightfastness (print longevity) is approximately 2-3 years framed, under glass, out of sunlight, in moderate humidity rooms before noticeable color shift or fade begins.
FINAL WORD:
Color range (gamut) and resolution is excellent for the price of this printer but because I assemble my prints in professionally bound albums and in gallery frames, the lightfast problem eliminates this printer as an available option for me. Also, I cannot use this printer as a proofer printer because its speed is too slow.
For the average home user, this printer is more than you will need.
