The commercials convinced me to buy it, but I might have saved money by going to the hardware store.
In the basic package you receive the following: - 1 travel case - 1 lage backing pad - 1 small backing pad - 4 large flex-crystal replacement pads - 4 small flex-crystal replacement pads
Now, when they say "flex-crystal" they are really referring to very fine sand paper with a sticky backing. The backing pads are a soft flexible rubber that the pads simply stick to.
To use, you have to make sure there's NO moisture on your legs, as the pads will end up giving you a friction burn if you have even a few drops of water, so do NOT use after a bath or shower.
You stick a pad on the backing and start to sand your legs. They say that you can either do short strokes back and forth, or small circular motions. I prefer circular, seems to work better for me.
I've always had a problem with dry skin on my legs. They always have a flaky look to them, so the exfoliation that the pads do is a huge plus to me. I've used this product for 3 weeks now and my legs have never looked so smooth and even colored.
However.... everything is not great. For hair remover.. well... I still have to shave my legs. The pads don't seem to do much for the finer hair around my ankles, so I spot shave when needed.
The biggest problem is the irritation. They warn that you may experience some irritation when you first start using the product, but three weeks later and I'm still feeling it. In fact today I ended up with red blotchy legs and burning sensations. I would NOT recommend doing this on a day you are planning to show your legs off, probably best to do it the day before and allow you skin time to heal.
Because of the skin irritation, I haven't ventured into using the smaller option for other areas. I am fearful of a raw upperlip or sensative areas.
Overall, not a bad product. I've bought and used much worse, and I don't regret this purchase at all and plan to keep using it for the rough and dry skin exfoliation.
