Pros: With mp3s recorded at 128 Kbps or higher, you may think this is a Cdplayer
Cons: The battery is an issue, but easily solved with a replacement, RealOne Software :(
The Bottom Line: If you want a MP3 player that can play both WMA, MP3, Audible.com Audio books, and have the ability to record your voice, then step inside the RIO800 house.

| mdebonee's Full Review: Rio 800 (128 MB) MP3 Player |
The RIO 800 MP3 player is a solid MP3 player that offers all the options that a user could want.
It allows you to move and delete songs right on the player, so you don't need to connect to your computer to remove a song that you are tired of. This comes in handy when you are on vacation and you are stuck with the same songs. All you need to do is just rearrange them, and it doesn't seem so monotonous.
This player is equipped with a small microphone in the corner, so you can leave yourself reminders, such as "Don't forget the meeting this afternoon," or "For the love of God DON'T forget Alice's birthday again." It can also be good for recording yourself singing in the car if you feel so inclined, or one of a hundred other uses.
The physical design of the player is, well, comfortable. one side has a little rubber feel to is, and gives a little grip. This particular side is also curved so it fits into your hand well. The button placement is also pretty good seeing that all you really need is play and track skip. Memory backpacks are pretty expensive. seeing that the player is approximately one hundred and sixty dollars for 128MB of memory, a 128MB backpack should not cost one hundred and eighty, but who am I to decide.
I love this player. Even though the battery that came with it is horrible and should be thrown at the makers, but that is easily solved by either replacing it with a standard alkaline AA battery, or a rechargable AA battery so you can use the charger that came with it. I did purchase mine refurbished, so it was a little cheaper, but it works just the same!
