Wow ! Best piece o' beef I ever had. This place specializes in beef, and frankly they know what's going on with it.
I had the opportunity to visit the S & W in downtown Chicago recently, and between the manly ambiance, the manly menu, and the manly portions, well...I was in man-heaven!
They meals are served pretty plain, you order your meat, and that's what you get. Side orders are extra, at about 8 to 10 bucks per side ! But compared with a 30-45 dollar piece of meat, that seemed reasonable. But don't worry, the sides are easily shared, and we actually shared 2 sides, between three of us and had plenty to go around!
With my extremely tender, and special corn-fed flavored meat (the caliber of which you cannot get at a grocery store or sizzler) I enjoyed the hash browns which covered an entire meal sized plate, and asparagus the likes of which I've never seen (and believe me, I've seen some asparagus before!)which was awesome.
What a meal, the basic food groups, meat, potatoe, and even some veggies! Oh yeah, the beer was nice and cold too, just the way it should be. Yup, that's dining!
