Pros: Solid motor, stable, reliable

| rezenator2000's Full Review: Smooth 9.2 Series Treadmill |
I tried 3 different treadmills before deciding on this one. Smooth 9.2 offers a reliable treadmill that is relatively quiet and stable. At $1799 (the price I paid for on sale) you get a treadmill with a solid motor, limited programming options, and a decent looking display panel from a company with sub par customer service. I will tell you my whole experience if you want to read on.
After reading the same epinions that you are reading and being disappointed with the other treadmills such as Nordic Track and Healthrider ($1000-$1500 price range), I decided to buy the Smooth 9.2. I ordered it on Sunday and the Treadmill came to our house on Thursday which was impressive. The box looked as if I received a used treadmill. It was taped together and beaten up. After putting the treadmill together myself (which is relatively simple) I proceeded to adjust the belt when I realized that the housing for the adjustment screw is completely bent. This confirmed my guess that they either shipped me a used product or it was damaged during transportation. I called the company the following day and was not able to get any one on the phone. The second day I got through to customer service and explained to them the situation with the treadmill. They said they will have someone contact me about the treadmill. Three days later a rep from Keys Fitness (the people that actually make this treadmill) called me and after talking to him, he decided that Smooth Fitness needs to exchange the treadmill. He said expect a call from Smooth Fitness to setup the exchange. I did not get any calls for two week, therefore I called Smooth Fitness back. They told me that the exchange is already setup and I should be getting my new treadmill in 4-5 days. Another two weeks past and there was no sign of the treadmill. I called them again inquiring about the treadmill. They said that someone has dropped the ball and there are no records of an exchange for me (what do you expect from a NY/NJ etailer). They said that a new delivery is setup. Finally, six weeks later I got the new treadmill. This treadmill had a brand new box and it did not look beaten up.
So, I am happy with the treadmill but I wish the company cared a little more about its customers.
