Use the center channel for 3.1 imaging? NOT

Pros: Nice Highs, Good Imaging, Price ($94), Ease of use
Cons: Bass,Center channel speaker is worthless.
The Bottom Line: Buy this system only if you DON'T already have a very good speaker system. It will produce NICE sound with avg Bass.

I bought this set with the idea of getting rid of the two rear speakers and using the left, center and right to give me a good sound stage. After the easy hookup I turned it on and the sound was VERY clear. After some tuning with the Turtle Beach software I was able to fine tune the system and achieve very good imaging. However, the subwoofer unit was not very accurate and seemed to cheapen the whole system. It did not produce tight bass, more of a thud. The center channel is worthless and does not reproduce sound very good.
I took the unit back to Circuit City only because my Harman Kardons (champagne edition) sounded a little better. I was wanting a better system. My wife even said they sounded pretty comparable, but it wasn't an vast improvement.
