| mstuver's Full Review: Sony Handycam DCR-IP5 Micro MV Camcorder |
The camera is fine, Sony's proprietary MicroMV format is NOT. I have had the devil's own time trying to get footage from this camera to DVD. The included software repeatedly crashes on my high-end computer, as does Pinnacle Studio. As I write this I am checking out my new Panasonic 953, which I bought for the DV format, reviews of which state it is easy to capture/edit. I have not been able to edit footage from the Sony at all, an all or nothing capture to DVD when I finally got Ulead software to work. Sony's support for MicroMV has been abysmal.
