Excellent review; one quibble. (Reply to this comment)

Although I disagree with your final opinion, this was a thoughtful, well written review. My only quibble is that the Clie will play MP3s quite happily from the blue (non-secure) memory sticks; it only requires the MagicGate (white) sticks for ATRAC3 files.

Did you install the OS update and enable the Hi-res app?

I think that the apps look great on this thing. Even the old ones that will not run in hi-res mode.
