If you are someone like me, who likes the finner stuff and that enjoys design and look over performance. Then this Sony VAIO W Serie is your ultimate choice of a PERFECT desktop. It is PERFECT in every sense of the word. It is compact. It is light enough (20lbs) for you to carry it easily around the house. It has a wide screen (15"3 inches, perfect for DVD viewing). It has built-in speakers for long lasting hours of music listening. The hard drive is 60gigs, just enough to store about anything you want from media files to mp3's etc... This VAIO has also 3 USB2 ports (1 is already used for the mouse), 2 firewire port and 2 PC card slot. I have to confessed that I have never been so happy to be home in from of my VAIO before the purchase of this unit. This W Serie is just amazing. It has a memory stick slot. I have a CLIE NR70v and all the pictures I take and store into my memory stick and be instantly viewed as soon as I put that memory stick into the slot. Music transfer is also AMAZINGLY fast. I have a Sony MZ-N1 mini disc recorder. Using the SonicStage program, I can transfer songs from my desktop to my MD within minutes! The element of this desktop that I love the most and that I would HIGHLY recommand is the 2 pc card slot. With conventional desktops, if you want to go wireless in the house with your internet connection, you would have to buy a wireless desktop pc card, which requires you to open your pc and install it. Why not have wireless card slots like laptops do? That is exactly what designers at Sony thought and did. All you have to do it's to buy a laptop wireless card and insert it into the pc slot and there you go! You are connected! (NOTE: You need a wireless router installed in order to be able to connect to the internet wirelessly) Let's take a look at the keyboard! This keyboard is no ordinary one. It is attached to the desktop and has all the conventional keys needed in order to function propertely. However, it has addition shortcut keys on the far left of the keyboard to facilitate your usage of the desktop. What are these shortcut? You have 5 shortcuts buttons for emails, internet explorer, music, picture viewed and a dvd player PLUS you also have an extra key for help features on your VAIO in case of need. They have thought about everything! You must be wondering how much could such pc possibly cost, right? Not more than average does! In fact, if you pick up a calculator and do the math, buying a regular pc could be pricier than buying this Sony VAIO W Serie. Why? Because you have a wide screen and flat, at the same time, included and you have speakers included. For 1600$, you get all this and even more! I believe that the design of this desktop makes it worth every penny you spend on it! Let the Sony VAIO W10 bring you freedom, outstanding design and affordability to your home or office! As for the customer service, I have only 1 word to qualify it : OUTSTANDING! If you want my rating, it would be 11/10! Let me explain, I am a Canadian resident. This product was bought in the US. In normal circumstances, any import products does not get serviced by Sony covered by the warranty. However, I had a trouble with my unit and had to call Sony repairs to have it fixed. They were just so friendly and helped me and guide me through all the procedures. The unit was sent back to the US AT NO COST! Sony covered the shipping billed! They sent me a box and all I had to do was to put the desktop in it and ship it back to them at their cost! THAT IS REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I got back my unit EXACTLY 7 days later, as PROMISED! I can't imagine how much faster the service would be if you are a resident in the US but surely even faster! Bottom line, I have been extremely PLEASED with the service and the product itself, of course! I will keep on being a loyal customer to them because they know exactly what the word customer means to them! They have proved it to me!
