Pros: Very comfortable, Specialized shoes are an excellent choice!
Cons: A little bit heavy. Other than that, perfect!
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this product to any rider at any level. They are worth the money and will provide a high level of comfort regardless of distance.

This is a brief review for the Specialized Sport Mountain shoe. This is a mid-level mountain shoe that was released a few years ago by Specialized, but is still being offered in a more updated and improved model. I have used this actual model for many years, and my wife has used the newer model and has enjoyed them as well. I used this pair of shoes for 4 years, and no longer have them now, but can say that the Specialized Comp shoe is an excellent choice. I recently bought a pair of Sidi shoes, and have used them only a few times, but have not had as good of luck with them as the old Specialized shoe. The Sidi's cost twice as much, but offer a much lower level of comfort and performance. I used this shoe rigorously on many hard mountain rides and even used them on my road bike a few times. They are extremely comfortable in every way possible. They repel dirt and water and mud nicely and minimize the moisture that gets into the shoe. In Oregon, this paid off very nicely. They breathe well because of the canvas toe and leather upper, but not as well as synthetic material shoes. They also have a durable stiff sole that gives you a good return of power in each pedal stroke. The shoes are not the most light weight pair, but do fare well for those who are not watching each ounce on their overall equipment. If you have an opportunity to still buy them, it's a great idea! The old models can still be found on some sites, but usually you will find the newer version with the geometric sole that tilts to relieve stress from the outer knee. This particular model does not have this feature, but is very comfortable.
