Thanks for the kind words, Tom... (Reply to this comment)

I've never really worried too much about whether or not I get a hat. If they come, they come. If they don't, I still write about what I feel like writing about and rate reviews the way I call 'em.
I am unhappy about the whole selection process though. Not because of any specific thing, but because I continually see long lists of "Editors" who I notice for the first time, not because they write well or have great insight in the category -- but because Epinions somehow pulled their name out of a hat to get an "Editor" hat. How else do you explain the Editor who has 20 total reviews posted, none in the category in which they are supposed to be "Editors". Or, as you mentioned, the people who haven't posted anything in months...
It saddens me to see so many e-friends abandoning Epinions, but with the stupid things they regularly do as an organization, it's sometimes a wonder that any of us stick around...
Just ONCE I would like to see them make a change in the site that actually IMPROVES or FIXES something. Hey! A guy can dream...too bad that I have a better chance of seeing my Pamela Anderson fantasies come true.
Write on!
Mark

I am so unhappy that Epinions goofed and skipped over you by selecting inactive members to serve as Top Reviewers and Editors in Gourmet. That really sucks. Turth is, your beer reviews are some of the very best at Epinions. You write regularly and rate regularly. I just don't understand what happened. I am hoping to hear news of the new Member Advisory Council so that I can raise a complaint about how top reviewers and editors are selected.
Cheers,
