bubbascrap's Full Review: Sunbeam 5891 Bread Machine
Just dump in the ingredients push a button and a couple of hours later you have fresh bread ,my wife said . No-way it can't be that simple ,well I was wrong again.
It has been about two months now, and after over two dozen loaves I still can't believe it. What a great little machine. We have made just about every recipe in the manual that is included with the machine and with the exception of the cake recipe all have turned out just great. the cake turned out to be a one pound brick. but maybe that was because we used the cake and pastry flour instead of the bread flour.
The machine preforms well, it is fairly quiet and yet strong enough to blend and knead the dough to a smooth texture. The beeping sound that indicates when you can add extra ingredients such as raisins or nuts to the bread machine is loud enough for us to hear it in the living room. One weakness is in the clip which mates the mixing tub to the motor, it tends to become slack and then starts making a ticking sound while running. Another minor problem is the lack of a back light on the display, which makes it difficult to see in a bright lit kitchen.
Overall this is a great bread machine for the price.
