| thelocust's Full Review: TDK MOJO Personal CD Player |
I was given my Mojo player as a birthday gift. I must have been a good girl.
I had been wanting a portable CD/MP3 player, so this fit the bill. One of the features I love about it is the screen. Glows bright blue, easy to read, and displays all the options you have activated on the player, the options applicable to the disc, small 3-bar equalizer, and title and artist of song. It takes the Mojo a minute to recognize all the information on an MP3 disc, but once it has loaded the disc, it remembers the CD.
Full directory of songs is available at the touch of a button, and is able to be sorted by artist, song, or even what mood of music you want to listen to.
Getting through the menus can be a little difficult at times, I get frustrated because I press the "Menu" button instead of the "Select" button, and it kicks me back out to the main screen. I'm sure i'm just not trained well enough yet. Another slightly frustrating feature of the Mojo is that it offers a "Hold" button on the unit itself, and on the optional remote piece. It will not play unless both are turned off. I will try to turn it on, then keep looking back and forth to see which is on hold.
The most dissatisfying thing about the Mojo is the headphones that come with it. They are "Street" style headphones, which fit around the back of your head. Headphones, however, are replaceable.
The system also comes with a CD-Rom with several programs to help you use the Mojo, including a program to design a new startup logo for the player. While I think that some of the programs may be a little unnecessary, I do think that the "Lyric-sync" program is a neat idea, and a nice option.
The Mojo has excellent quality sound, and gives you the ability to control a number of options on the system. I heartily recommend it.
