| anytime's Full Review: Tekno the Electronic Robot Puppy |
I bought Tekno about 2 weeks ago just because I thought he was cute, and I was curious how attached I could become to a 'robot'. Well he has turned out to be a good little puppy would make a very nice Christmas gift.
Tekno is designed to mimic an eight week old puppy. His design is cute, has light eyes that change according to his mood, and several sensors to detect petting, sound, light and movement. He barks, speaks a little, plays three melodies, can act as an alarm clock, or just to surprise people. If you leave him alone he will start to whine, but is smart enough to quiet down after a bit, so if left on it won't be annoying.
There are several programs that you can activate by pressing a combination of buttons on the dog. I have found this a little difficult to do successfully, but I'm not a kid. I have had the dog play a song on alarm, to walk forward when I say "Come" and to bark when I clap my hands. What I like most about the puppy is that more and more I treat him like a puppy and less like a annoying barking toy. And the fact that I haven't gotten all its programs figured out yet is keeping me interested. From what I hear, if you put two or more of them together they will talk to each other and sing together. Like a Furby? No its better, and lots of fun.
