So many baby toys flash, beep, crinkle, honk, talk and do other assorted surprising things. It is nice to have a few toys in the arsenal that are simple and soothing. This is one of those great, basic toys that baby likes and can use on a regular basis.
WHAT YOU GET
This teether is very simple. It is just a set of rubber beads on a closed loop of yellow plastic. The design is great. The closed yellow loop can't be broken because there is no knot. This means the beads can slip off and cause a potential choking risk. The beads are bright colors but do not make any noise or otherwise stimulate baby. This is great because we have lots of stimulation toys. This teether works well in quite time or when baby is getting toward the end of playtime and we don't want to overstimulate her.
The beads are pretty firm although they have a little give. Baby must like this teether because it spends a good amount of time in her mouth. There is a little space between the beads so they slide a bit. I worried at first that baby might pinch her fingers between the beads but that hasn't happened.
In my opinion, the best thing about this teether is that it is dishwasher safe if your put it on the top level. We have run ours through the dishwasher many times and it has not suffered any wear and tear. Too many teethers are partly made with fabric and become very cruddy over time. I know this teether is clean or can be cleaned easily so I don't mind giving it to baby and seeing it go in her mouth.
OUR EXPERIENCE
Our baby is just over 4 months old. She started mouthing everything she could about 5 weeks ago. She started with this teether then and has it really mastered now. The beads are thin enough so she can grasp them easily. The toy is shaped so that it is easy for her to get it to her mouth. She happily licks and mouths it on a regular basis. As I mentioned before, it is great that it is dishwasher safe, so I can keep cleaning it if it falls or gets dirty. This teether has gotten more use than other other teethers we have.
One caution though. This toy turns our baby into a drool monster. We have to bib her prior to giving her toys to mouth.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION
We got this teether as a gift. Baby likes it quite a bit and it seems to soothe her or at least distract her from being upset. The nice combination of dishwasher safe and simple, soothing relief makes it a winner in our house.
