Aha! Spiffy! Coincidences like that are always fun. :)

Things are in fact well. Or at least they will be if I can figure out a way to not get eaten alive by bugs every time I go out to water or weed the garden...

good to see you again!

I work for the book's publisher so I'd be biased in any other comments!

Hope all is well.

Cheers from Kevlog :-)

You might also try Mari Messer's "Pencil Dancing." It's a similar idea, but with more suggestions to help you out, and it's geared more toward creativity in general rather than just writing.

Writing books that help you visualize/play is a first for me. Any time I've looked for writing books, they all contained rules not "break free" suggestions. I'm glad you did this review. You've opened a new world of reading for me.

*grin* I have to agree! Polished can come later. That's what rewrites are for. ;)

I definitely need this... (Reply to this comment)

I get these flashes of creative energy, and then get bogged down in the actual writing by trying to make it sound polished and symbolic. To heck with metaphors! Playful's the way to go!!

I have a sad obsession with writing books, it seems, so I read them endlessly and write reviews of them. Maybe someday I'll recover. ;) In the meantime, they are fun!

I heard about this book somewhere a couple of weeks ago (can't remember where) and it's been on my wishlist. I've got a shelf full of these kinds of writing exercise books, but I cheerfully confess I love to collect them, and use them too. Anything that can help free me up to play with words is a blessing. Thanks for the informative review!
