| rachellesims's Full Review: Tiny Love Symphony in Motion - Animals |
You must buy this mobile! If I have ever given any advice that was taken, this is THE advice.
My daughter was born very fussy. She, and I, spent her first 6 weeks crying. She was first in a bassinet, so a mobile couldn't be put up. At about 5-6 weeks, it was almost time to put her in a crib, so I went on-line and looked at mobiles. The tinylove symphony in motion kept coming up in reviews, and in magazines, and on baby sites. So I figured, if it's winning awards and getting this much attention, it must be good. Also, it looked cute; so I bought it.
It came and I fell in love with it. I got the animal version. There is a green froggy, a pink monkey and a blue birdie. All this is in combination with colored star shaped disks that slide down in motion, while cone shaped things at the top spin with black/white designs on their bottom and large balls are near the animals turning. SO much for baby to look at. The animals are bright, cheerful looking and all this is connected to a music player that has a selection of 3 classical composers.
So, up went the crib, up went the mobile, and down went baby. The first time she saw it, she gave the biggest smile I SWEAR I had ever seen on her :) And it has been happy ever after. She loves it. When she wakes up, it's the first thing I do. I turn it on, and she looks at it moving for at least five minutes while I put on her bottle and brush my teeth (thank heavens for the little things!) Sometimes in the afternoon, I'll put her in her crib, hoping she might fall asleep, and usually by the time the music runs out she is asleep. But that is after a long round of giggles, squeels and leg kicks while she looks at it. Just this afternoon, my husband looked at me and said "that mobile is worth its weight in gold" as she giggled and kicked in her crib.
There are basically three motions to this mobile, besides the music and the animals/ shapes. I read a review that disliked the colors, and while they're bright, I find them cheerful and something fun for her to look at. The music is nice, and when I finally have to take it down (darn it) I can keep the music portion attached to the crib for future use.
I have reusable batteries in mine, and have yet to change them (3 months later or so) and I'd say I use it about 1/2 hour on average per day.
It is not the cheapest mobile on the market, but trust me, it is worth every penny!
