As an avid audio-videophile,Toshiba has done it again by impressing me.I have had the fortune of actually trying 4 different models(friends in audio stores)before deciding on the Toshiba.The picture quailty is equal to several(refernce players,Sony,Pioneer and Denon costing upward to 1000 dollars.)Toshibas Colorstream Outputs,I.E component outputs offer a slightly better picture then S video.I ran the machine through Video Essentials test DVD and the machine passed all the color test paterns flawlessly.Including the all important Pluge,or passing the blacker then black video stream to your monitor.You also get a high end DAC,for producing beautiful sound on CD's and DVD's.Yes,the higher bit rate makes a difference! If this is your first DVD purchase,or your updating to a better model,this ones for you! The Audio Guy.
