While the SD-3109 is a great player, it does not play CDRs in my extensive testing of the unit. I heard mention by some that they thought that it was a good player for CDRs and therefore decided to look into it further. However, after testing about a dozen different CDR media types, none of these would play on the SD-3109 or SD-2109 units.
I just wanted to pass that along to people that are interested in playing CDRs of their own music and/or any other CDRs (VideoCDs, for example) that they might wish to use.
Note that I later tested the same media on the Pioneer DV-414 -- and all of them played perfectly. I bought the DV-414 and have been very pleased.
