| bops_mom's Full Review: Trader Joe's Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap Person... |
I’m a huge fan of Trader Joe’s and ideally I go once a week for part of our grocery needs. On one of these trips I realized that I had forgotten to pick up some hand soap at Target and knowing I would not be back at Target for at least a week decided to see what Trader Joe’s had to offer. There wasn’t a huge selection but I quickly found one that would fill my needs, Trader Joe’s Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap.
Product Information
If I recall correctly Trader Joe’s Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap was priced around $2.49 for 8 fl oz. It’s packaged in a clear plastic bottle with handy pump. The packaging states that it “fights garlic & fish odors”.
Active Ingredient: Triclosan 0.2%
My Experience
I generally use this soap while I’m cooking in the kitchen. In between cutting up a chicken breast and making a salad. Cross contamination is definitely something I look out for and since I don’t ever intend to make anyone sick from my cooking – I often use an antibacterial hand soap in the kitchen.
One pump of Trader Joe’s Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap is all that is required and I can easily get a good lather going for my hands. It rinses off easily and leaves my hands feeling squeaky clean. I have dry skin and many hand soaps – especially antibacterial hand soaps end up drying my hands out even more. While I cannot say Trader Joe’s Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap is moisturizing I can say it isn’t any more drying than any other antibacterial gel hand soap and is probably even less drying than many.
I don’t cook a whole lot of fish in fact fish to us is canned tuna. And I if I’m using garlic to cook it’s usually the already minced stuff in a jar. What I’m getting at is – my needs for hand soap in the kitchen may vary from yours. I find the strong lemon scent of this hand soap to be rather welcoming. It’s smells so clean and fresh – it smells like freshly squeezed lemons. I have found that it does indeed help with any odors on my hands such as onion or tuna. Especially with onions I can smell it on my hands for at least a day after cutting one up – with Trader Joe’s Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap the onion smell doesn't stand a chance.
And so
Trader Joe’s Anti-Bacterial Lemon Hand Soap is priced higher than I usually pay for antibacterial hand soap. Since I was pleased with the results I got from other, less expensive hand soaps I will probably go back to them as I come to the end of my bottle. I am however very pleased with the scent and performance of this hand soap so I’m sure I’ll end up buying it again – the next time I forget to pick up a bottle at Target.
