The Bottom Line: If you are REALLY interested in the 2002 model, be sure to THOROUGHLY INSPECT IT BEFORE YOU PAY THE STORE. Consider a different brand!

I bought two of these nice looking bicycles with in the last month and Im happy to report that one of them is working well. Unfortunately for the good people at Trek, im not going to be writing about that one. The one that is having the multitude of problems is my Black and Gold one (20"). I have had this bike for 5 days so far and it has been in need of adjustment 4 times! The only riding that I have done with this bike is one time around the loop in central park (nyc).
To start, I wasnt able to shift into gear #3 on the front gears. I went back to the bike store and they told me that they would fix the problem. I can now shift into #3 but the numbers on the twist shifting device no longer line up with the arrows that are supposed to indicate which gear you are in!
Next came the problems with the back wheel. The problem is that its not 100% round. When you spin it, and look at it from the side, it just isnt round. I went (of course) back to the bike store and they said they would adjust it.
I went BACK to the bike store because the problem had not been solved! They fiddled with it a bit and its better but still not 100%
If you are still interested in buying this disaster of a bicycle be warned that the shock forks that come on the bikes are NOT standard! My blue and white model has "Post Modern" shocks that are NOT adjustable. My black and gold model came with an "Insync Odesa 168) shock that IS adjustable.
These bikes are not perfect! if you are looking to spend over 500 dollars on a product that will not live up to your expectations, i think you have found the bike for you!.. I am VERY sorry that I made the investment in this bike.
