yoga1's Full Review: Whirlpool WFW8300SW Front Load Washer
We purchased this in Mar 2008. Initially we were living in a rental house prior to buying our current home. The rental was on a slab and the washer was fine there. We moved in May and our home is on a crawlspace. This washer now has the worst balance problems that we have ever seen! It makes the WORST noises, shaking and moving all over the place. Clothes get out of balance on the spin cycle the worst. It is like all the clothes get stuck in one spot and the drum cannot detect where they are and never balances. I have to be close by when washing clothes and constantly pause the machine to let the clothes all fall back down to the bottom of the drum and then restart it. It is the biggest pain! It is noisy and sounds like it is going to take off thru the floor or walls. I have read the manual, we have leveled this thing over and over, called Whirlpool and had a technician check it. He says the machine is fine, told us to purchase 4 pads to reduce vibration, so $30 later, NO improvement. If I could take a hammer & tear this thing to pieces, I would. My husband got so tired of the noise and my complaining, he went to Lowe's and they just sent us a brand new replacement. Guess what?? It vibrates/shakes just like the old one PLUS makes a LOUD humming noise! Needless to say, we are now waiting on a delivery of another brand washer & dryer. Save yourself some frustrations and DO NOT BUY THIS!! I am amazed that Lowe's is taking back BOTH washer and dryer with NO questions asked. They were awesome, so highly recommend their customer service on satisfaction.
