inclark's Full Review: Whirlpool WFW8300SW Front Load Washer
Mine has been pretty good. I would not agree that I can do sixteen pairs of jeans or towels in it. I do like having the extra rinse function & heavy duty cycle, I use them quite a lot. And I did want an energy star model. Like many buyers I had an issue with code F-20 error, and had to purchase a new thirty-five dollar valve, sounds like this valve part should have been recalled. I hope in the newer versions, this common problem has been resolved. I would not say my machine was any better at cleaning than the Kenmore which preceeded it, but then I really liked it. I think this is pretty much the same & the best I could find for the cost, that met my requirements. The apparenace is typical for a washing machine. Plain white, no decorations. I really wasn't looking for a decorative or designer machine, I was solely basing my decission on cost, function, and value. Color and blinf played no part in my choice and does not effect my usage in any way. Using a front-loading machine is less convenient for me than my old top-l;oading machine but it was necessary for the low water usage and energy star rating- so that probably cancels each other out on the plus and minus scale. There is less selection in laundry detergent for HE (high-efficiency) washing machines, but that will change over time & really isn't a big part of the decision factor. They do need the HE or low sudsing formulas of detergents though, something purchasers should be aware of. Otherwise, the machine will not cleaning and rinse clothes properly.
