My daughter Jordan used to love Winnie the Pooh and his gang of Hundred Acre Wood friends, but then she found someone new, someone else caught her eye, some more fun, someone yellow and square, someone who loves to be in the water and his name is SpongeBob Squarepants. It used to be I want Winnie the Pooh this, Winnie the Pooh that. Now it is her new love of SpongeBob that she has given up on playing with Wigglin' For Honey Pooh and time for me to find him a new home at a local children's resale shop, but not before I tell you all about Jordan's short love affair with this honey lovin fella, that just recently caught Jordan's eye not more then 18 months ago.
Pooh and his love for honey
I will admit, Wigglin' For Honey Pooh is a cute toy, but Jordan doesn't seem to be interested in Pooh's love affair with honey anymore. Even when 2 of her friends come over for playdates, they play with it for a few minutes, then throw it aside for a more exciting toy.
Wigglin' For Honey Pooh stands about 14 1/2 inches tall, and when sitting he is 11 inches tall. Pooh bear is all dressed up and ready for his honey, wearing a red shirt and purple corduroy overalls. The overalls have a square patch on the right leg. Pooh is wearing a red and white checkered bandanna around his neck as a bib. But, it looks like Pooh already made a mess eating his honey, he has 3 yellow honey stains on the front of his bandanna. All 3 clothing pieces are sewn onto Pooh and each other, so Pooh won't end up running around naked.
In Pooh's right hand is a 4 1/2 inch purple honey dipper, with yellow honey on top. The honey dipper is sewed onto Pooh's hand, but can come off very easily, if a child pulled hard enough or can be cut off. Wigglin' For Honey Pooh also comes with a 4 inch blue plastic honey pot, full of yummy yellow honey. To feed Pooh, put the honey dipper into the honey pot and up to Pooh's mouth. When your little ones feeds Pooh, he says, "There's a rumbly in my tummy" and wiggles his ears and feet. Pooh also says, "I don't suppose there's any more in there?", "Hip, hip horay for honey", "Yum, yum, honey". Your child can also feed him by putting the honey pot up to Pooh's mouth.
There is a mechanism inside Pooh's mouth, that when the honey dipper or honey pot touch his mouth, it makes Pooh talk and wiggle his ears and feet. In the back, is the battery pack. You will need a screwdriver to open the battery pack. Wigglin' For Honey Pooh takes 3 AA batteries. One good thing about Wigglin' For Honey Pooh is there is a on/off switch on the battery pack. So you can turn Pooh off when not in use.
Pooh himself is bright yellow, with a smile on his face because he sees his honey in front of his eyes. Pooh's eyebrows, nose, and mouth are fabric and sewn on to Pooh's face, so no need to worry pieces will fall off and pose a choking hazard to kids who love to chew on everything. Pooh's eyes are plastic and are securely attached to his face as well. Pooh's legs are poseable, so he can sit down or stand up (not by himself though).
Pooh may wigglin' for honey, but he's not Jordan's pot of honey
Jordan got this over a year ago, and plays with it every once in awhile. When she first got it, she was excited and interested in her new Pooh toy and played with it for a short time, before throwing it aside. It might come out from underneath all her toys in the toy box every 3 months. Even her friends come over and don't seem interested in Wigglin' For Honey Pooh for very long. Since none of the kids I know seem to like it, Wigglin' For Honey Pooh is going to find a home at a local resale shop or find his way into a garage sale. Wigglin' For Honey Pooh is a cute toy, but doesn't hold a child's interest for very long.
Recommendations
Wigglin' For Honey Pooh usually sells for about $20.00, so I'm lucky I only paid $6.00 for a toy Jordan has played with a total of maybe 5 or 6 times in the past year. He is a cute plush toy, but not to soft and huggable because of the battery pack and mechanisms inside. If you are a fan of Pooh or know a youngster who loves Pooh, this might be a good toy for you, if you don't mind it collecting dust in the toy box or a shelf. But then again, your child may love Wigglin' For Honey Pooh and feed Pooh constantly.
