When we passed the possibilities of fitting 6 people into a 5 person vehicle, we were forced to make a choice in purchasing a larger vehicle.
We have been through a few too. We tried troopers, extended cab trucks then even a van. Yikes! Nothing against vans, they are great for hauling around a lot of kids. I always got car sick in them as a child and hence never really had a desire to own one.
Our last vehicle that we purchased was a suburban. Thank you GMC. This is the greatest vehicle. If you have kids fighting, you can send them to the back seat and keep them fairly separated. We have been everywhere in our suburban. I have 2 sisters that also own suburbans and would probably sell their first born to keep them. Just kidding, they wouldn't do that, but they swear by them and refuse to own any other SUV.
Some bright minded person was thinking of people when they decided to put rear air in longer vehicles. My suburban has it and it is wonderful. It also has rear tinted windows. Four wheel drive (a must where I live), and it has a full bench front. So we can haul about 9 people with seat belts for all of them. This is a monster machine.
If there was one thing that I don't like, is that the engine tends to overheat on a hot day with the air conditioning running. This can be a little scary.
I would recommend it to families.
