I visited several car dealerships and even surfed the internet for the car of my dreams. Much to my dismay I knew what I did see I didn't want.
Two weeks later I tried again to find the car I hoped to take my breath away. I drove to an out of the way dealership. I was escorted around the sea of cars and told how great every other one was. I thought it was another wasted visit.
I turned around to walk away and bumped right into my next car! It was a purple PT Cruiser that seated 5, got 30 mpg, tilt steering wheel, spacious trunk with a shelf.
I fell in love with it and took it for a test drive. The smooth ride and quiet engine intrigued me. With the brakes you could stop smoothly on a dime. The adjustable removable seats (All of them except the driver's). I was in 7th heaven and bought the car right then and there.
I have since hauled a huge desk after I removed the two back seats and removed the shelf. My friends and family have used it to move from one house to another. It had more room than any of their trucks!
On a more personal note I was on the 57 freeway and a truck pushed me out of a lane. I quickly looked to see if there was another car in the lane I was forced into. There was and I wound up turning the wheel in the other direction sailing across the other three lanes. I didn't hit any one but while I was going across the lanes I noticed how smooth the ride was.
Going to the number one lane I hit the embankment and it turned my car completely around. I was going backwards at 60 mph. Trying to slow down my car continued backward for a few more feet then shut itself off. I was amazed at the fact that I was unhurt but worried that my car was ruined.
The officer asked me to get out of my car but I was reluctant because I didn't want to see the damage. It felt like I had been traveling on the left side of my car. The officer opened my door and helped me out. I looked at my car and there wasn't a scratch!
I found out later that this car has safety bars under the hood that keep the car from crushing the driver and front passenger's legs in a front end collision. Luckily I didn't need to worry about that but it was good to know.
